ETHC 652 – Ethics, Power, and Shadow
Credits: 2
This course explores where ethical harm most often emerges: in the charged places where unexamined wounds, power, money, sexuality, caste, and dual relationships shape care. Drawing on bioethics, depth psychology, eco-philosophy, and contemplative traditions, students learn to recognize projection, navigate power differentials, and act from grounded inner authority.
Through experiential, relational practice, students examine personal, somatic, and cultural dimensions of shadow, including equity, access, and cultural dynamics in entheogenic communities. The course also develops skills for relational repair and for understanding how power operates within practitioners and the broader field.
Format: 4-day in-person intensive in the Oakland, CA, with one live virtual orientation session before and one integration session after.
